June 28, 2012. Las Vegas, NV. Brett Fullmer, a SEO expert reviews the positive effects of the latest Google update labeled “Google Penguin”.

When Google deployed the Google Penguin update on April 24, 2012, webmasters across the internet began to panic as they noticed a significant drop in traffic originating from Google Search. Brett Fullmer discover that the Google Penguin update was positive event dispute a strong consensus across the internet viewing it as a “Google Slap” and a negative event. While developing an online training product called “The List Plan”, Mr. Fullmer found that the Google Penguin Update actually was a positive event for authority sites focused on providing high quality content.

As webmasters were significantly impacted post Penguin, there was a panic due to the fact that Google was actually punishing webmasters for building “Unnatural Links”. Prior to the Google Penguin Update, it seemed like Google was not going to impose any penalty for spumy Link Building Practices. SEO experts felt comfortable sourcing links for almost any source. Entire software packages and spam blog networks were springing up with the sole intent of Gaming Google and building low quality links to gain Page Rank and Search Rankings.

Google could not ignore that fact that webmasters were engaging in link building efforts and made the decision to enforce the “Google Webmaster Guidelines” that specifically prohibits link building schemes. Web-masters were shocked and amazed to see Google attempt to enforce this almost unenforceable policy.

Brett Fullmer recommended not paying for links or software that offers links. He also recommended to avoid getting links that are located in the footer and sidebar of websites. He encourages focusing on High Quality media rich contents and building high value links from websites with High Page-rank and established trust.

Hey guys its  Brett Fullmer here enjoying another Beautiful Day working as my own boss  from my home in Sunny Las Vegas Nevada.
I am the creator of  The List Plan the best all inclusive List Building Training program on the internet.
Chances are that Google “Slaps” worries you.  This is the case for millions of webmasters.
Today I want to discuss the latest update to Google’s algorithm mean for YOU and how you can use this knowledge to boost your personal income.
April 24 2012 which happens to be my birthday marked a significant event that impacted millions of webmasters. Google in a very short time in April 2012 rolled out several updates and enter new introduced what they named the “Penguin update”.   Webmasters across the Internet have begun to panic because the penguin update impacts any website that may have either unintentionally or intentionally engaged in aggressive back linking to gain page rank and traffic from the Google search engine. Millions of sites have been impacted and I noticed immediately that some of my sites were affected.  The interesting thing was that some of my websites actually gained more traffic post penguin.

Before we can understand how the Google Penguin update may impact your traffic coming from Google search we need to understand why Google decided to roll out this algorithm update. Google Penguin update was implemented by Google as a countermeasure to enforce the almost unenforceable Google Webmaster guidelines. Specifically “Don’t participate in link schemes designed to increase your site’s ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or “bad neighborhoods” on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links”.

For the first time in recent memory Google was actually handing out penalties due to external linking practices. Personally my reaction was a little bit of panic because this means that my competitors may be able to use the Google update to negatively impact my website.  My suspicion was confirmed when I started reading some of the comments being posted in black hat sites.

The reason Google implemented the Google Penguin update was to detect and devalue websites that were participating in link schemes. The Google penguin update is designed to identify and ultimately devalue or punished if you will websites that are participating in the link schemes. One of my websites even received the following message in my Google Webmaster tools account.

“Dear site owner or webmaster of yourdomain.com
We’ve detected that some of your site’s pages may be using techniques that are outside Google’s Webmaster Guidelines.
Specifically, look for possibly artificial or unnatural links pointing to your site that could be intended to manipulate PageRank. Examples of unnatural linking could include buying links to pass PageRank or participating in link schemes.
We encourage you to make changes to your site so that it meets our quality guidelines. Once you’ve made these changes, please submit your site for reconsideration in Google’s search results.
If you find unnatural links to your site that you are unable to control or remove, please provide the details in your reconsideration request.
If you have any questions about how to resolve this issue, please see our Webmaster Help Forum for support.
Sincerely,
Google Search Quality Team”

As I understand it, these notifications are actually being submitted by humans and not some sort of script. I don’t actually know what is happening behind the scenes of Google however the consensus on the Internet is that the Google penguin update that detects unnatural links and alerts the webmasters through Webmaster tools. It also gives you an opportunity to submit your site for reconsideration. When I received the notice I took action and review all the links coming into my site and found one method that we were using that was bringing very low quality links back to the website. We removed all of the links and come contacted all the webmasters hosting these websites and submitted to our site for reconsideration. Upon doing this Google notified us that it would take several weeks to verify and that they would have someone review our accounts and take a look at our website.

My professional advice on how to proceed after receiving this notice is to conduct a thorough review of links coming into your site. If the links are coming from low-quality websites contact if possible the webmaster and ask for your link to be removed.  Start by checking Webmaster tools and looking at the inbound links section and look for low-quality websites with the most links and work down the list. After completing your audit submit your website for reconsideration in an honest and professional way.  You should not be doing anything on your website that you would need to hide from Google. You should in courage Google to do a human review of your site. You should also note in your reconsideration response that you have no conformal over links external to your websites. You should also let Google know that you are concerned about may give SEO efforts against you.
